When I was learning about Ubuntu 12.04, the term Lens and Scope was mentioned frequently and I thought – What’s that all about?
Now we have a specific guide that answers:
What are Lens?
What are Scopes?
What can they do for me?
This unique document could not have come into existence without the collaboration of BCIT technical writer Daniel States. He surprised me when I initially contacted him about the project stating that he was a current Ubuntu user!
I had several requests last time for a link to the source document for those wanted to post changes or translate the document. Both the Quick Start Unity 12.04 and Lenses and Scopes document can be found here:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~rrnwexec/ubuntu-vancouver-loco-portfolio/trunk/files/head:/unity-guide/
As with all projects its never just one person – it’s a team effort and I would like to thank the following:
Kip Warner
Joe Liau
Sighmon Butterfield
Lulu
Brock Riedell
Johann Tan
John Asbacher
Kim Kulak
Randall Ross
But wait! There’s more to come?!?! What that can’t be possible…you’ll just have to wait and see!
Enjoy! And Pass It On!

From page 9 of the PDF:
“You can open all of your Lenses from the Lens Bar. Ubuntu 12.04
LTS features the five default Lenses in”
In what? It doesn’t say, it simply cuts off. Good job, editors!
