With the release of Ubuntu 12.04 and many changes to the look and feel of the Unity interface, Ubuntu Vancouver decided a new guide is in order.
In conjunction with the BCIT Technical Writing Program, Ubuntu. Simplify Your Life – has been completely overhauled by Ewan Mallerud.
In addition, I would like to thank the following Ubuntu Vancouver members for coming out and assisting with editing, proof-reading and suggestions. Thus making UVLC’s first documentation jam a success.
Kip Warner
Joe Liau
Sighmon Butterfield
Lulu
Brock Riedell
Johann Tan
John Asbacher
Kim Kulak
And thank you to Randall Ross for his contributions to this document.
Upon first glance, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Simplify Your Life, looks lighter and a much faster read than the original. Which it is! It’s geared towards those learning and experiencing the Unity interface for the first time. Its focus is getting you oriented quickly and thus allowing you to get on with your day to day computer tasks.
Current Ubuntu/Unity users – we have not forgotten about you! This time around we have a special guide for you…do not fret it will be arriving very soon.
Enjoy! But most importantly pass it on!

I’m sure it is a great resource but when I clicked on the cover image, hoping it would link to the document, I got the error message: “Could not locate object”.
Hello Grant,
Thank you for letting me know the link was broken. I have fixed it and you can now gain access to the document.
Charlene
Hi Charlene,
How can I email you bugs as per Alan’s question? Are you able to email me directly so I can reply to that email?
All the best, Grant
